The Aisle Adventure Board is a custom-designed tabletop maze that transforms a grocery shopping trip into a fun, hands-on challenge. Players tilt the board to guide a steel ball through a miniature store layout, navigating each department before reaching the checkout lane and exiting the store.
This project combines precision laser fabrication with high-detail resin 3D printing. The outer frame is constructed from layered hardwood, creating a durable and attractive enclosure, while the maze itself is produced as a single translucent green resin insert. The transparent maze adds depth and visual contrast while showcasing the intricate pathways and department layout beneath the playing surface.
Designed from concept to finished product, the project required careful consideration of wall heights, clearances, ball movement, and assembly to ensure smooth gameplay and a clean, professional finish. The result is an engaging interactive piece that demonstrates how traditional fabrication and additive manufacturing can work together to create unique, functional products.
